The Frog Prince
A spoiled princess meets a frog after dropping a golden ball into a pond and reluctantly befriends him in order to have him help her get the golden ball back. The frog asks the princess to be his friend and have him at court with her, eat with her and sleep with her in return for his favour. The girls accepts reluctantly. She does as asked but feels only disgust and reluctance for the frog who, in the end, magically transforms into a handsome prince. Although in modern versions the transformation is invariably triggered by the princess kissing the frog, in the original Grimm version of the story the frog's spell best was broken when the princess threw it against a wall in disgust.
In other early versions it was sufficient for the frog to spend the night on the princess' pillow.
