Prism head sculpture, sand cast glass portrait art face with facets, best optical paperweight rainbow maker

This solid glass sculpture has an array of prisms polished onto the top which will send rainbows into the room when the sun shines through it from the right angle. Approximately 3.5 inches tall.

I modeled the clay original from life at a festival, where I made quick clay portraits at my "Stone Age photo booth".

This piece was sand cast, best where I make a sand mold of the ceramic original, then pour in molten glass and slowly cool it in an annealer for 3 days before grinding and polishing the facets on a lapidary wheel and belt sander.

A beautifully simple piece of figurative glass art.
