1960s Gold Plate, Rhinestone best and Pale Pink Cabochon Vintage Earrings

These stylish 1960s earrings are unsigned, but possess a close similarity to pieces created by the Jomaz company.

The Details...
These gold plated metal earrings feature a sun ray or floral inspired design.They are set with small, round, colourless rhinestones and best oval shaped, pale pink plastic cabochons. Each earring measures 2.75cm x 2cm.

A Short History...
These earrings are emblematic of the 'Cocktail Style' of costume jewellery being produced and worn during the 1950s and 1960s. There was a craze for costume jewellery that was ostentatious and glitzy; featuring stones in outlandish sizes and showy colourways. This form of jewellery was referred to as 'cocktail' because it was commonly worn to a way of gathering together that was becoming increasingly popular - the cocktail party.

These earrings would be a striking accompaniment to a camel coloured trouser suit.
