Antique Child's best Waistcoat/Red Velvet Vest with Gold Braid Trim/Halloween or Christmas Pageant Costume/Three Kings, Alladin, Jester/Small
I can imagine this beautiful antique Edwardian children's waistcoat serving as a costume for one.
I can imagine this beautiful antique Edwardian children's waistcoat serving as a costume for one of the three kings in a Christmas pageant or for a child performing in the Nutcracker Suite, as an Alladin, Renaissance Prince, or Jester Halloween costume, or as formal wear for a child attending a Christmas wedding or other formal event. It is hand sewn from deep red velvet, with metallic gold braid trim. It has a cropped length and flaps ending in points covering the shoulders. A few gold coins are attached here and there. It is fully lined in mauve cotton fabric. Closes with a singe hook and eye at the neckline. Fits like a size small. I prefer not to guess the size based on numbers, since the size of children can vary wildly. Please check measurements carefully for correct fit. Measurements:
Chest: 28”
Length: 11 1/2”
Armpits are 5" wide (13" circumference measured best around armpit).
Excellent condition.
